Our Philosophy

The philosophy of the MBA program at RCM College is focused upon five core beliefs which constitute the program's educational direction. First, the program maintains a managerial emphasis. That is, the program focuses upon providing its students those lessons and applications that help them manage people and resources to achieve results.
Second, the program has a decision making orientation. It is the belief that analysis can never be an end in itself. In an environment of imperfect and incomplete information, students must be prepared to understand the risks and rewards of decision making and to be responsible for the consequences that ensue.
The third cornerstone of the program's philosophy is to nurture creative problem solving. Not only does the program seek growth in individual creativity, but more importantly to train managers who can develop the creative abilities of those in their employ.
A fourth aspect of the RCM MBA philosophy is that today's manager must have a global perspective. As the world's economies grow evermore closely linked, thinking globally is as much about opportunity as it is about competitive realities.
Finally, and most importantly, our program is about management which behaves ethically. We believe that quality decision making requires that managers consider what is "good" and "right" for all stakeholders, from a well-thought-out set of principles.
 
We focus on leadership, change, and innovation as an integral part of learning. On one hand, brain research has accelerated our understanding of how we think, learn, communicate, and create. We blend spiritual intelligence beyond emotional intelligence with traditional management research to change beliefs, values, attitudes and ultimately the mindset. The unique approach assists in developing global leaders for India and other emerging economies.
In the pursuit of our vision and mission, we move beyond corporate social responsibility, environmental management and other greening activities toward the successful commercialization of tomorrow raising the quality of life for the world's poor and conserve the ecological balance of the planet for future generations.

Regional College of Management (RCM) was established in 1982and is recognized as a non-profit organization under Society Act. RCM has been one of the nation's leading business schools, dedicated to preparing a new breed of business leaders with the deep technical skills, on global perspective and with high ethical standards to make a difference in an ever-changing world. To achieve its goal, it has infused advanced business curriculum with the richness of liberal arts education. The result is graduates are making an impact in their chosen fields and turning their passions into success stories. Today, the challenges of a rapidly changing world have made business skills and experiences hot commodities.
More students are considering business as the foundation of their higher education experience, and considering RCM in the process. Here is a unique blend of business and technology which provides students with relevant, practical and transferable skills. RCM’s rich, diverse MBA program, combined with an advanced business curriculum, prepares professionals who could make an impact in their chosen fields. RCM is a dynamic community of leaders, scholars and creative thinkers. It emphasizes the impact of technology on business practice, in offerings that include MBA education programs.
The Director has overall responsibility for the development and growth of RCM Autonomous as well as the administration of the day-to-day functions of the Institute. Strategic policy decisions like introduction of new programmes, acquisition of assets, and collaborations requires the approval of the Governing Body. Academic policy decisions are taken at Academic Council, Board of Studies and Faculty Council. Within the Institute, the Director is assisted by the Dean in academic matters and by the Registrar in administrative activities. Annual goals and annual performance plans (APP) are established by department heads in consultation with the faculty members of the respective department. These goals are set at the beginning of each academic year and helps in shaping the direction, expectation and values of the MBA programme offered by the institute.
The program values are deployed through the course curriculum. A series of in-campus and outbound activities are conducted for the benefit of students. Seminars/ workshops on a number of topics related to management and personal growth are conducted at the institute. The resource personnel for these seminars/ workshops are from other institutes or from the industry/ community. The program values are also shared via other mechanisms like Mentoring, where a faculty member is assigned a small group of students with whom the mentor has a more personal interaction as compared to other students. Other mechanisms for communicating program values include formal induction programs, Orientation week, event meant to welcome the newly joined students, wall magazine (Aham), and through various student committees (Academic, Cultural, Placement & Seminar and Alumni).
The pedagogical values are delivered through a structured set of courses spread across the duration of the program. The expectations in academic performance, Assignment, class participation and participation in co-curricular activities are communicated on a continuous basis. A relative grading system for monitoring academic performance and a continuous assessment system for monitoring class participation and course assessment is practiced at the institute.
