Welcome to our Board of Governors |
| RCMA College, Bhubaneswar, India |
| RCMA is governed by the Board of Governors as per the AICTE norms. The Board of Governors constitutes the spirit that propels the institute to excel in all its activities. It is responsible for providing leadership and motivation for the pursuit of excellence even in the day to day activities of the institute. |
| The Board of Governors is headed by Sj. Lalatendu Bidhyadhar Mohapatra, Ex-MLA, and a dynamic, philanthropic social activist. His commitment to promote quality higher education is astounding. He is assisted by the Member Secretary-cum-Director Prof. Dr. Prabir Pal, Ph.D, BE (MIT), PGDM (IIMC), an industrialist, and a visionary personality. Prof. Dr. Pal has set up an array of other philanthropic-cum-business concerns in the state, besides RCMA. Those have a manifest agenda to cater to the needs of the less privileged. |
| Prof. Dr. Pal strongly believes in empowering people and in developing leadership skills for effective management. With this philosophy intact, he has decentralized every aspect of the management of the College through various committees. An Advisory Council and a Management Committee are also part of the system for maintaining efficiency. However, Prof. Dr. Pal maintains an overall supervision of the college activities and adds a personal touch to the activities. |
| The institution has a participatory system of administration as it envisages empowerment of faculty. It follows neither the top-down nor the bottom-up policy of governance. A participatory policy which is multi-centered and multi-oriented, and driven the vision of the college has been the pivot around which every unit moves. |
| The Board of Governors of the College takes a direct and close interest in the day to day functioning of the college with the Director and Deans being available and accessible to all the faculty and students every day throughout the academic year. |
| The Director plans the budgetary allocations, keeps track of the financial matters and authorizes all payments made on behalf of the management. This ensures effective and healthy financial management practices in the college. |
| The Governing Board of RCM(A): |
| The Board of Governors controls Regional College of Management and meets three times a year and more often if necessary. At present there are 9 members, along with three nominees from University, AICTE and UGC by selection. Other Members are elected by the board for terms lasting from three years, and may be re-elected to subsequent terms. Members of the Board of Governors who provided distinguished service to the Regional College of Management over a period of time are selected as members of the Board. |
| General responsibility for the administration of Regional College of Management is vested in the Director, who is appointed by the Board of Governors, and in the administrative officers reporting to him. The basic framework for college governance is set forth in Regional College of Management By-Laws. In 2009, the Board of Governors undertook a comprehensive review of college, when UGC granted the autonomous status. Suitable strategies were designed to ensure that the board works effectively engaging in best practices for nonprofit organizations. A lot of changes occurred after the college became autonomous. |
